I am a practical theologian, currently employed as a postdoctoral researcher in Bible, culture, and politics as part of the Scripture and Secularism project. My task is to examine how churches and religious leaders in public debate contribute to the construction—and deconstruction—of ideas about a secular, democratic society (or culture) based on Christian heritage, in contrast to the religious Other.
My researcher's heart beats for two areas. The first is research on Christian preaching and worship. I am particularly interested in how they are influenced by digital culture, environments, or tools (such as AI). Digital religion and digital theology are fields to which I frequently and gladly contribute.
The second area is church leadership, both from contemporary and historical perspectives. Among other topics, I have researched the impact of digitalization on religious authority and women's ordination in the mid-20th century.
