I'm a postdoctoral researcher in the project FABRIC, evaluating faith-based diaspora organisations' responses to refugee relief, contributing to debates on the ethics of forced migration.
I'm also a guest lecturer at CCCP, University of Cologne, teaching graduate courses on citizenship, migration and multiculturalism.
Before joining CTR, I researched the role of Türkiye-originating faith-based diaspora organisations in elections in both origin (Türkiye) and resident country (Germany) at AIA-NRW. Previously I was a postdoc/teaching associate at the Institute for Turkish Studies, University of Duisburg-Essen, and collaborated on projects across Europe and Australia on transnationalism, social protection and democratic resilience.
My research interests include faith-based diaspora organisations, external voting, transnational political engagement of migrants, refugee relief, migration ethics, citizenship and qualitative research methods.
