I am PhD student in New Testament exegesis. As part of the project "Scripture and Secularism", my research project focuses on the comparative analysis of political figures' usage of the Bible and the Qur'an in South America and Southern Europe. By uncovering trends of similarity and difference, I aim to contribute to a comprehensive understanding of far-right movements on a global scale.
My main research interests revolve around reception criticism, religion and politics, the Global South, and contextual hermeneutics. I also have a strong interest in poverty studies, both in relation to the ancient and the modern worlds.
I am originally from Brazil but did most of my studies abroad. I received my master's degree from Acadia University (Wolfville, Canada). My master's thesis revisited Johannes Munck's view of Paul's Collection to Jerusalem as influenced by the prophetic and eschatological tradition of the pilgrimage of gentiles.
