Flannery O'Connor's View of the Modern Alienation from Sacramental Religion

Mary Flannery O’Connor (1925-64) was born in Savannah, Georgia as the only child of the American Irish Catholics Edward Francis O’Connor, Jr. and Regina Cline O’Connor. In 1952 her first novel Wise Blood, in 1955 the short story collection A Good Man Is Hard to Find, and in 1960 her second novel, The Violent Bear It Away were published. She received several fellowships and titles of Honorary Docto

Modeling for Quality and Safety in Biopharmaceutical Production Processes

Dessa läkemedel är proteiner eller peptider som tillverkas i jäst eller djurceller och sedan måste utvinnas ur celleTo design efficient and safe biopharmaceutical production processes, understanding the process and how it is affected by changes in the process conditions is essential. Experimental data form the basis of this understanding which can be enhanced by modeling and simulations of the physical and chemical processes known to control the process. This thesis describes modeling of preparative chromatogra

Phosphatidylinositol 4-kinases in plasma membranes and Affinity partitioning of liposomes: a model system for membrane purification

Polyphosphoinositides, the different phosphorylated variants of the phospholipid phosphatidylinositol (PtdIns), are used in a wide array of intracellular mechanisms in eukaryotic cells. The phosphorylation of PtdIns at carbon D4, catalyzed by phosphatidylinositol 4-kinase, is an important step in the synthesis of several of these molecules. The presence of different isoenzymes of PtdIns 4-kinase i

Stability of statically and periodically loaded structures

Popular Abstract in Swedish I denna avhandling analyseras olika typer av stabilitets fenomen. Firstly the quasi-static behaviour of an elastic structure is studied for increasing loading. The post-buckling behaviour is studied numerically with a path-following method where limit points and bifurcation points can be determined with good accuracy and the solutions may be followed out on the secondary branches. Secondly, an a
