Metformin förebygger typ 2-diabetes under lång tid

Our alumni are golden – and deserve a bonus

The Pufendorf institute celebrates 15 years as an Institute for Advanced Study and many interdisciplinary groups have been at here and experienced the value of thinking and working together across disciplinary boundaries. We are happy to see that Pufendorf collaborations have continued and that several have received external funding for large interdisciplinary projects based on the work done here

Greyzone Genomics: Assessing the Risks of DNA Technology in Global Power Struggles

As advancements in genetic technology continue to benefit human health, concerns are mounting over their potential misuse in geopolitical conflicts. While discussions on the risks of genetic technology in international affairs have often focused on dramatic scenarios – such as so-called "genetic bioweapons" – a team of interdisciplinary researchers argues that the reality is far more complex: less

Researchers at Lund University to launch Sweden's first interdisciplinary tax centre

Although the public sector makes up half of our economy, there is currently no interdisciplinary tax centre in Sweden. By linking research to specific societal challenges, Lund University aims to contribute to a more sustainable and efficient tax policy, while also reinforcing Sweden’s position in the global debate on the future tax system. Researchers at Lund University are launching a new interd

Welcome to the conference “DigiJustice: Human Rights in the Age of AI” 15 May

The digital transformation of our world and the use of innovative digital technologies, including AI, reshape economic, social, political, and cultural interactions in most areas of life. While digital technologies may offer possibilities for development and action, they also raise concerns about integrity, privacy, and democratic values. Also: the benefits and risks of digital technology are not

One Theme (?) – several events

One of our interdisciplinary Themes, Ancient Synagogues and the Human Sensorium, decided to make this May even eventful(l)er. We are all for it. Especially since they provide simulations of the past with advanced computational methods, meetings with international experts and … food. All three events are open to all, will be held in English – and require registration. Welcome to a symposium at Pufe
