Till följd av ett omfattande inventeringsarbeteMIFO is a methodology commonly used to facilitate inventory of potentially contaminated sites (objects) in Sweden. It was first introduced during the 1990’s and has since then served as a standardized method for risk assessment. MIFO are comprised of two evaluation phases,1 and 2. Following years of inventories, there is now an extensive amount of data stored in files which can be used as an asses

Summarising Constraints On Dark Matter At The Large Hadron Collider

Dark matter is estimated to make up around 25% of the Universe, but it is not known what dark matter is. In particle physics, mediators of dark matter are used to model interactions of dark matter particles with known particles (Standard Model particles). These mediator particles can be produced from two quarks or gluons in high-energetic proton-proton collisions, and decay immediately back into S

Integration of a Rankine Waste Heat Recovery Model in Engine Modelling

The conventional internal combustion engines of today are starting to reach their maximum possible efficiency, however the demand for highly efficient vehicles keeps increasing. There are many ways of improving the total fuel consumption of an internal combustion engine, but one of the most promising, effective and available methods is the implementation of an Organic Rankine cycle (ORC). The scop

Barley Cer-q encodes a lipase involved in the synthesis of epicuticular waxes

A plant’s rain coat Imagine yourself taking a walk on a cloudy day. Suddenly, the sky opens and the rain is pouring down making you totally soaked. Now imagine that you predicted that it would start to rain so you put on a rain coat. When the rain starts to fall, you won’t get wet since the rain drops will strike against the rain coat and get drained. In the same manner, the wax on plants is prot

Membrane screening to identify optimal properties when separating organic matter from Bolmen water

In many places across the northern hemisphere, drinking water treatment plants (WTPs) need to avert the effects of deteriorating quality in surface water sources caused by increasing lev-els of natural organic matter (NOM). The two major factors responsible for this phenomenon, also called brownification, are the greenhouse effect and changes in soil acidification. Additional treatment steps needs

Analys och slutsatser underbyggs av primärdaPurpose: The purpose of this thesis is to build knowledge regarding how new image activities and branding activities initially influence public employers’ recruiting conditions. Methodology: A qualitative cross-sectional study was carried out with a hermeneutic approach. The research in this paper is mainly deductive and based on relevant theory. Mass models and the spiral arms of the Milky Way

En av dI investigate to what extent spiral arms might affect axisymmetric Galactic models. As we need fully dynamical and high resolution Galactic evolutionary models to probe the structure of the dark matter halo, it is important that we use accurate mass models describing the MW structure. Before reaching to that level of effort, a great deal can be learned from fitting mass and kinematic models to dat

Acquisition model for small privately held manufacturing businesses in the United Kingdom

Issue of study: The plastic injection moulding industry has become highly competitive in terms of lead times and pricing, following an increase in low-cost manufacturing from Asia, as a part of the full supply chain. To remain competitive, mould tool manufacturers are looking to complement new tool manufacturing with local after-sales services in countries where their mould tools are being used. U

Split Deliveries in Fashion E-commerce

Background H&M Online has experienced rapid growth over the last years and is now present in Europe, North America and Asia. To be a successful fashion etailer, companies need to overcome typical fashion challenges such as seasonality, short product life cycles and a constantly changing customer demand. In addition, companies must learn to master the special characteristics of e-commerce such

Going from global to local - adapting the service offer in the delivery chain

One way for manufacturing companies to gain competitive advantage in today’s business environment is to complement the product offering with surrounding services that deliver superior value to the customer. Further, the demand for these surrounding services is influenced by market-specific customer requirements, surrounding competitive environment and local prerequisites. Therefore, there is a nee

Evaluation of emergency ordering policies at Syncron

The aim of our research has been to identify what prevents Syncron from implementing a single item emergency ordering policy in their inventory management system, GIM. Emergency ordering is defined here as the ability to use two supply sources, a normal one and a faster more expensive emergency source. We further wanted to investigate under what circumstances an emergency ordering policy could be
