VidaThe primary aim of this thesis is to formulate a theoretically and empirically based consultation model for psychologists in school contexts. Ideas and strategies are clarified so that they can be applied, evaluated, and further developed by other professionals. The model has been constructed with an interactional approach, with the stress on patterns of interaction between grown-ups and children

Study of safety culture at two air traffic control centres

The aim of this short paper is to present an ongoing joint research project, Human Factors in Air Navigation Services (HUFA), between the Swedish Civil Aviation Administration and Lund University. Results from the study will only be given very briefly. The project focuses on human and organizational factors and safety in air traffic control.

Communication, Rationality, and Conceptual Changes in Scientific Theories

This article outlines how conceptual spaces theory applies to modeling changes of scientific frameworks when these are treated as spatial structures rather than as linguistic entities. The theory is briefly introduced and five types of changes are presented. It is then contrasted with Michael Friedman’s neo-Kantian account that seeks to render Kuhn’s “paradigm shift” as a communicatively rational

Temperature limited fed-batch cultivation with a probing feeding strategy for Escherichia coli

A cultivation strategy combining the advantages of temperature limitedfed-batch and probing control is presented. This is a suitable way to produce recombinant proteins while minimizing therelease of endotoxins which complicates the downstream processing. The downside with the temperature limited fed-batch technique has been the difficulty to achieve a controlled excess of glucose inthe reactor with

The Art of Living with a Traumatic Spinal Cord Injury in its relation to Resources and Norms in Swedish Society

The overall aim of this thesis is to elaborate on the art of living with a traumatic spinal cord injury (SCI) in its relation to resources and norms in Swedish society. A paper on “ethics in the making” elaborates how general ver

Mathematical Modeling of Brain Circuitry during Cerebellar Movement Control

Reconstruction of movement control properties of the brain could result in many potential advantages for application in robotics. However, a hampering factor so far has been the lack of knowledge of the structure and function of brain circuitry in vivo during movement control. Much more detailed information has recently become available for the area of the cerebellum that controls arm–hand movemen
