Regulation of Injury Induced Schwann Cell Proliferation Schwann Cell Proliferation

The purpose of this study was to investigate injury induced proliferation of Schwann cells with emphasis of the effects of the insulin-like growth factors (IGF-I and IGF-II) and the sex hormones progesterone and estrogen. Proliferation, measured as [3H] thymidine incorporation, was studied in cultured segments of the rat sciatic nerve or through the use of the thymidine analogue bromo- deoxy-uridi

Villa 69

Accomplishments in consultancy work: ambiguity and distribution of praise and blame

This chapter addresses identity constructions in the context of consultant-client relations in consultancy work. The focus is on how consultants and client managers use the image of each other as negative mirrors of themselves, making collaboration tension-ridden and complicated. In particular we emphasize identity dynamics around the attribution of credit and blame, drawing attention to the evalu

Integrating climate change adaptation into municipal planning and governance : A guideline

Guiden presenterar systematiskt de nivåer och områden där förankring av klimatanpaThis guideline offers local government officers and local politicians process-oriented assistance for integrating climate change adaptation within relevant sectors of municipal administration with the aim of fostering sustainable urban development. It is thus an instrument to support leadership of this integration process. The levels and areas where integration of climate change adaptation is rele

Cultural and Historical Narrative in Native and Non-native Speaker Language

The narrative sequence is basic to language, both spoken and written, and is used as a multitask resource in familiar as well as formal interactions. In this article the narrative sequence is approached from a somewhat particular angle. I have chosen to focus on those narratives where the subjects concern cultural and historical events in exolingual conversations in French. The article then discus

Triarylamine on Nanocrystalline TiO2 Studied in its Reduced and Oxidized State by Photoelectron Spectroscopy

The electronic and molecular structures of an electrochemically reduced and oxidized triarylamine layer (((3-ethyl(p-N,N-dimethylamino)phenyl)amino)propyl-1-phosphonic acid) adsorbed on a nanocrystalline TiO2 film have been investigated. Photoelectron spectroscopy (PES) measurements on electrochemically prepared surfaces and density functional theory (DFT) calculations for the free triarylamine mo

Toward and integrated model of semiotic development

In previous work, McCune (1995, 2008) and Zlatev (2007, 2013) recognized the importance of reviving a coherent cross-domain theory of semiotic development. Despite inevitable differences, the two approaches converge on their explanations of development across the first three years. Both recognized representational ability as a critical feature at the transition to language and both emphasized the
