Alejandro Cesarco: Other Recent Examples

This exhibition, dedicated to the work of Alejandro Cesarco (Montevideo, Uruguay, 1975), brings together pieces in a variety of media –photographs, videos and text-based works– that proposes reflecting on the construction and experience of learning, as well as on the processes associated with memory, perception and language.Among them is Index (An Educator), a piece that belongs to a series of wor

Icke-vetande, nya tankar och mod - Professionellas stöd till personer som utforskar sin könsidentitet

AbstractIn Sweden, the notion of gender identity is up for renegotiation and an increasing number of people are seeking professional support in relation to these issues. Professionals dealing with gender issues are either the transgender health care, specialized in transgender issues, or general practitioners. The purpose of the study is to investigate professional work with people who are question

Expressions of Trust : How University STEM Teachers Describe the Role of Trust in their Teaching

Positive teacher-student and student-student relationships are among the most significant factors contributing to learning, motivation, wellbeing, and graduation rates in higher education. Trust is commonly understood as a key element for the development and sustenance of positive educational relationships, yet relatively little empirical research investigates trust in higher education classrooms.

Classification of patients with knee osteoarthritis in clinical phenotypes : Data from the osteoarthritis initiative

Objectives The existence of phenotypes has been hypothesized to explain the large heterogeneity characterizing the knee osteoarthritis. In a previous systematic review of the literature, six main phenotypes were identified: Minimal Joint Disease (MJD), Malaligned Biomechanical (MB), Chronic Pain (CP), Inflammatory (I), Metabolic Syndrome (MS) and Bone and Cartilage Metabolism (BCM). The purpose of

Association of malalignment, muscular dysfunction, proprioception, laxity and abnormal joint loading with tibiofemoral knee osteoarthritis - A systematic review and meta-analysis

Background: To investigate (1) the association of specific biomechanical factors with knee osteoarthritis and knee osteoarthritis development, and (2) the impact of other relevant risk factors on this association. Methods: MEDLINE, EMBASE, CINAHL and SPORTDiscus were searched up until April 2017. Studies were included if they fulfilled the following criteria: the study 1) assessed the association

Assessing Unilateral Spatial Neglect using advanced technologies : The potentiality of mobile virtual reality

BACKGROUND: Unilateral Spatial Neglect, or neglect, is a common behavioral syndrome in patients following unilateral brain damage, such as stroke. In recent years, new technologies, such as computer-based tools and virtual reality have been used in order to solve some limitations of the traditional neglect evaluation. Within this perspective, also mobile devices such as tablets seems to be promisi

Mapping of Host-community/Refugee Relations in Croatia, Germany, Jordan and Sweden: : FOCUS Research Project Work Package 2

This report consists of five tasks which were designed to gain an in-depth and broad understanding of the state-of-the-art on research, policy and practice on integration of refugees and host community relations. This was undertaken to form a foundation upon which to build Work Packages focusing on the field work (WP 3 and 4), the development of a refugee and host community toolbox (WP5 and 6) and

Search for short- and long-lived axion-like particles in H→aa→4γ decays with the ATLAS experiment at the LHC

Presented is the search for anomalous Higgs boson decays into two axion-like particles (ALPs) using the full Run 2 data set of 140fb-1 of proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 13TeV recorded by the ATLAS experiment. The ALPs are assumed to decay into two photons, providing sensitivity to recently proposed models that could explain the (g-2)μ discrepancy. This analysis covers an AL

Developing an authentic sex : Deconstructing developmental-psychological discourses of transgenderism in a clinical setting

The paper is based on a broader study of the use of discourses of transgenderism among sex-reassignment evaluators in Sweden. In this paper we explore how a developmental–psychological discourse was reproduced by the evaluators in their discursive negotiations of transsexualism. We found that maturity and authenticity are two key concepts that illuminate how the developmental–psychological discour

Machine learning-derived phenotypic trajectories of asthma and allergy in children and adolescents : protocol for a systematic review

INTRODUCTION: Development of asthma and allergies in childhood/adolescence commonly follows a sequential progression termed the 'atopic march'. Recent reports indicate, however, that these diseases are composed of multiple distinct phenotypes, with possibly differential trajectories. We aim to synthesise the current literature in the field of machine learning-based trajectory studies of asthma/all

Inclusive and differential cross-section measurements of tt¯Z production in pp collisions at s = 13 TeV with the ATLAS detector, including EFT and spin-correlation interpretations

Measurements of both the inclusive and differential production cross sections of a top-quark-top-antiquark pair in association with a Z boson (tt¯Z) are presented. Final states with two, three or four isolated leptons (electrons or muons) are targeted. The measurements use the data recorded by the ATLAS detector in pp collisions at s = 13 TeV at the Large Hadron Collider during the years 2015–2018

Measurements of jet quenching using semi-inclusive hadron+jet distributions in pp and central Pb-Pb collisions at sNN =5.02 TeV

The ALICE Collaboration reports measurements of the semi-inclusive distribution of charged-particle jets recoiling from a high transverse momentum (high pT) charged hadron, in pp and central Pb-Pb collisions at center-of-mass energy per nucleon-nucleon collision sNN=5.02 TeV. The large uncorrelated background in central Pb-Pb collisions is corrected using a data-driven statistical approach which e
