Calculation of antenna radiation center using angular momentum

An algorithm to compute the Radiation Center of an antenna based on the Spherical Wave Expansion is introduced. The method is based on the angular momentum vector that is uniquely defined for any antenna far field pattern. The radiation center is defined as the phase reference point where the angular momentum is minimized and corresponds to minimizing the phase variations in the antenna far field

In and Out of Focus: The Cultural Dynamics of Mediation and Landscape

There are interesting links between older viewing aids like the 1800th Century Claude Glass and recent photographic consumer products like the iPhone application Instagram and the spread of HDR (High Dynamic Range) photography. I will examine these links by juxtaposing them to some issues raised by landscape- and environmental art, as well as theoretical discussions of mediation and landscape. The

Dispersion flattening in a w-fiber

A method for dispersion-flattening in double-clad single-mode optical fibers is presented. The chromatic dispersion over the wavelength range [1.25 µm, 1.60 µm] is minimized for a w-fiber and also for a triangular-index fiber with a depressed inner cladding. The constraint that the first higher order mode should appear exactly at 1.25 µm is imposed. The full vector solution of Maxwell’s equations

Organizational core values: Goals or Corporate bullshit? A study of leadership and values

Purpose : to gain knowledge on how managers experience organizational core values, and to explore how the managers look upon the significance of such values in relation to their leadership. Theoretical framework : organisational culture (Schein) and action theory (Argyris & Schön). Regarding values, social influence and theories on motivation, studies by Rokeach , Sheldon and Elliot. Theory

Health Hazards of Building Materials

There is growing concern about the possible hazards which can result from the use of certain organic building materials. The issue has received a great deal of attention in industrial countries in temperate climates, because indoor air pollution is frequent in tight, energy efficient buildings with low rates of ventilation. This is not yet a problem all over the world, but an awareness of the risk
