Detta arbetet har hanterat sex olika borrkärnor från den Prekambriska berggrunden i Ohio, USA. Denna berggrund är täckt med 800 – 5000 meter av Paleozoiska avlagringar och på grund av detta vet vi väldigt lite om den.
