Towards a new model of group development
Background: Current models of group development favor views assuming that groups move from relative irrationality and inefficiency to rationality and efficiency in defined sequential stages. Aims: To present (a) a project questioning the generality of the linear progressive models of group development, (b) an alternative model taking into account factors related to formation, time, boundary manag

The Nature of Science-Based Controversies
The Nature of Science-based Controversies. The following points will be presented: 1. Political and epistemological reasons for studying science-based controversies. 2. Controversies as conflicts between rival professional groups and incommensurable systems of ideas. 3. Results and discoveries emanating from case studies of science-based controversies: four examples. 4. Towards a theory of sci

Film Music in the Lab : Eye Tracking Experiments on Music's Influence on Film Semantics
This paper discusses the possible advantages and disadvantages by using experimental methods in order to understand how music influences our understanding of film narratives. Can experimental and quantitative methods such as eye tracking, questionnaires, galvanic skin response, EEG (electroencephalogram) and fMRI (functional magnetic resonance imaging – a brain scan) give us insights into the sign
Flexible and integrated supply chains towards an innovative research platform
Purpose of this paper: Increasingly more companies need supply chains that satisfy individual needs and can adapt to a changing environment while simultaneously keeping costs down. Hence, flexible and integrated supply chains are needed. The purpose of this paper is to develop a conceptual research platform for studies of how companies can develop such solutions. Design/methodology/approach: A sys

BUILDING WITH REEDS: Revitalizing a building tradition for low carbon building practice
Since ancient times, reeds have been used as a low-tech building material in several construction purposes. Reed is a natural building materials that possess many useful benefits in contemporary building practices. Reeds grow around lakes, swamps and other water canals and have no environmental impact if dismantled after construction as they are biodegradable. Reeds are also easy to cut and handle
A simple one sweep algorithm for optimal APP symbol decoding of linear block codes
We propose a simple optimal a posteriori probability (APP) symbol decoding algorithm for linear block codes, which requires one forward recursion in a trellis.
Long term in-situ measurements of displacement, temperature and relative humidity in a multistorey residential clt-building
In a multi-storey residential housing project comprising of four 8-storey timber buildings, the bottom storeybeing designed with concrete and storeys 2-8 in timber, the vertical relative displacement, the temperature and the relativehumidity (RH) along one vertical channel in the external wall of one building has been monitored. Measurements startedduring construction and presented herein are resu
Reconstruction of nonlinear material properties for homogeneous, isotropic slabs using electromagnetic waves
This paper addresses the inverse problem of reconstructing a medium’s instantaneous, nonlinear response to electromagnetic excitation. Using reflection and transmission data for an almost arbitrary incident field on a homogeneous slab, we are able to obtain the nonlinear constitutive relations for both electric and magnetic fields, with virtually no assumptions made on the specific form of the rel

LQG Control Over a Markov Communication Network
We formulate and solve a control problem where data are sent over a communication network that introduces random time delays. Past time delays are assumed known by the use of timestamps and the probability distribution of future delays are modeled with a Markov chain with continuous observation densities. We generalize previous results on LQG control of jump linear systems to cover this situation.
