Sarason conjecture on the Bergman space

We provide a counterexample to the Sarason Conjecture for the Bergman space and present a characterisation of bounded Toeplitz products on the Bergman space in terms of test functions by means of a dyadic model approach. We also present some results about two-weighted estimates for the Bergman projection. Finally, we introduce the class B∞ and give sharp estimates for the one-weighted Bergman proj

Toeplitz products on the Bergman space

This article reviews the recent developments on the boudedness of products of Toeplitz operators. Special attention is paid to the solution of a conjecture posted by D. Sarason in the 90’s on the product of Toeplitz operators in the Bergman space recently achieved by Aleman, Pott and the author in [1].

Music and Democracy: Leadership Positioning in Relation to Policy Enacting and Inclusion of Children and Adolescents with (Dis)abilities in Sweden’s Art and Music Schools

This paper exposes and problematises the situation of children and adolescents with (dis)abilities in relation to Sweden’s Art and Music Schools during the time period of a national policy process. Many researchers in the Nordic countries have raised aspects of democracy in music education, as a path toward the inclusion of all children. The inclusion of children and adolescents with (dis)abilities

Uptake and degradation of chylomicron remnants produced in vivo and in vitro, in rat heaptocyte monolayers

1. The uptake of small and large chylomicrons in rat hepatocyte monolayer cultures was compared to the uptake of chylomicron remnants prepared either in vitro with pure milk lipoprotein lipase or in hepatectomized rats. 2. Small chylomicrons (Sf less than 400) markedly inhibited remnant uptake and were taken up more efficiently than large ones (Sf greater than 400), indicating that size may be an

Effect of hypothyroidism and cholesterol feeding on the clearance of chylomicron remnants in vivo and by hepatocyte monolayers

The hepatic catabolism of chylomicron remnants in normal rats and in hypothyroid rats which were either normocholesterolaemic or made hypercholesterolaemic by feeding cholesterol and cholic acid was studied in vivo and in hepatocyte monolayers. In vivo, the clearance of injected chylomicron remnants labelled with either cholesteryl- or retinyl ester was delayed in the hypercholesterolaemic hypothy

System analysis for environmental policy – System thinking through system dynamic modelling and policy mixing as used in the SimRess project

Diverse and complex interactions as well as multi-actor systems characterise resource use and re- source policy. This makes system analysis a relevant tool to orient resource policy towards the long term. Analysing such complex systems requires systemic thinking, consideration of causal loops as well as time-lags and delays in system responses. In the SimRess project, system analysis encompassed pa

The WORLD Model Development and The Integrated Assessment of the Global Natural Resources Supply

WORLD6 model was developed and applied to simulate potential future supply and scarcity of a num- ber of natural resources within the system dynamics modelling workpackage of the SimRess project. The main objective of this report is to outline the overall structure of the WORLD6 model and provide a detailed description of the “resources” module implemented in the model. In the WORLD6 model, resourc

Some properties of the chylomicron remnant uptake by rat hepatocyte monolayers

The effect of mild proteolytic treatment on chylomicron remnant uptake by rat hepatocyte monolayers was studied both at 4 degrees C and at 37 degrees C. At 4 degrees C binding of remnants to the cells was considerably lower than at 37 degrees C, and preincubation of the cells with pronase (2 micrograms/ml) further descreased binding of remnants at 4 degrees C by 63%. At 37 degrees C the effect of

Uptake and degradation of iodine labelled chylomicron remnant particles by rat hepatocytye monolayers

1. Rat chylomicrons were labelled with 125I with 69--72% of the iodine in the protein moiety. Less than 1 nmol of iodine was incorporated per nmol of protein. Of the peptide radioactivity 44--56% was in apolipoprotein A-1, 30--40% in the C peptides and 11--15% in apolipoprotine B. The arginine-rich peptide, which accounted for about 14% of the chylomicron protein mass as determined by scanning of

Binding, interiorization and degradation of cholesteryl ester labelled chylomicron remnant particles by rat hepatocyte monolayers

1. The cholesteryl ester of isolated chylomicron-remnant particles was efficiently degraded by hepatocyte monolayers. The degradation was sensitive to metabolic inhibitors. 2. With increasing amounts of remnant cholesteryl ester the rate of uptake approached saturation and conformed to a linear double-reciprocal plot. The V(max.) was determined as 80ng of cholesteryl ester/h per mg of protein and

Effects of fatty acid unsaturation on chylomicron metabolism in normal and hepatectomized rats

1. Hepatectomized rats were injected intravenously with doubly labelled ([14C]linoleic acid and [3H]palmitic acid) thoracic duct lymphs from rats fed cream, triolein or corn oil. The disappearance of the radioactive fatty acids of different molecular triacylglycerol species and of phospholipids from plasma was studied.2. 73–93% of the injected triacylglycerols had been cleared from plasma within 1
