Perspectives of anxiety in stressful environments : Prospective studies in real-life settings
Popular Abstract in Swedish Föreliggande avhandling behandlar upplevelsen av ångest i stressfulla miljöer. DeThe present thesis deals with perspectives of anxiety experienced in stressful environments. As such two major issues are addressed. The first issue is whether increased trait anxiety during work in a high-stress environment is related to impaired performance on executive control tasks. The second issue is whether the characteristic of a stressor and pre-stress individual differences in executive
On physical limitations for broadband electromagnetic scattering --- high order spherical waves
Limitations on the scattering matrix are derived for a wide class of objects, restricting their broadband interaction with electromagnetic vector spherical waves in terms of their size, shape and static material properties. In particular, it is seen that the order of the dominating term for electrically small objects increases with the order of the spherical wave. The results are applicable to man

Dynamics of Excitation Transfer and Charge Separation in Polymeric Semiconductors
Dynamics of optically excited electronic states have been studied in solid films and solutions of semiconducting polymers and model compounds. Transient absorption, monitored in the spectral range from 0.9 eV to 2.5 eV with a time resolution of about 100 fs, was the main experimental technique. Transient anisotropy, obtained from different polarizations of light, was employed to trace the dipole m
Psychological factors associated with habitat design for planetary mission simulators
Knowledge and experience of human and technological problems on long-duration missions to Moon and Mars, is at best minimal or worst-case non-existent, as these expeditions are yet to be undertaken. Problems stemming from isolation, inter-group relationships, human response to and interaction with spacecraft interiors in a confined isolated environment have been studied, but in limited ways. On fu
Analysis of Multiphase Transport Phenomena in PEMFCS by Incorporating Microscopic Model for Catalyst Layer Structures
The catalyst layer (CL) in polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) fuel cells is one of the key components regulating the overall performance of the cell. In PEM fuel cells, there are two CLs having identical composition for hydrogen oxidation (HO) and oxygen reduction (OR) reactions. There are four phases inside the CL, namely: carbon, Pt particles, ionomer and voids. In this work, a micro-model of th
